VAUGHAN WILLIAMS and MOZART, 30 April 2004
The Holy Cross College Choir, under the baton of Interim Director John Delorey,
presented its Spring 2004 Concert in St. Joseph memorial Chapel on April 30th.
The program comprised Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs (soloist Dana Whiteside
'88) and Mozart's Requiem, which was offered in memory of Bruce (soloists Rochelle
Bard '98, Rebecca O'Brien, Ray Bauwens and Paul Houghtaling '83). At the start
of the concert, Ronald Broude, President and Executive Publisher of Broude
Brothers Limited, presented a collection of 100 sets of choral music to the
Choir: the Bruce I. Miller Memorial Choral Collection. Dr. Broude gave a highly
entertaining account of his interactions with Bruce, who was a member of the
Editorial Board of the Critical Edition of the Gilbert and Sullivan Operas.
